Slitting Unit
The Forstner COMPACT comes standard with 5 pairs of slitting knives. The shafts are made of polished tool steel, and the slitting knives are hardened to Rc45. The tolerance between the shafts and the slitting knives is less than 0.01 mm, ensuring smooth and easy movement of the slitting knives along the entire shaft.
The quick lock system secures the steel to the shaft using an Allen key. As the quick lock is softer than the shaft, there is no risk of damage to the shaft during tightening, which can otherwise easily occur with other locking options.
The slitting knives have two cutting edges, so you can switch sides and release tensions from the material when slitting narrow strips. The machine is supplied as standard with a millimeter scale for easy reading and positioning of the upper knives.
Infeed Table
The infeed table has four ball-bearing rollers that guide the sheet metal to the infeed rollers. Thanks to the ball bearings, the sheet metal can be fed forward and backward without the risk of damaging the edges. They also help keep the material parallel and ensure perpendicular cuts.
Control System S1
S1 control system with touchscreen and intuitive functions. It is easy to program different quantities and lengths. The control system communicates with an electronic eye and automatically sets the zero point and performs a perpendicular clean cut. The control system has a material-saving function that stops the machine, raises the slitting knives, and feeds the sheet forward to the shear. An optional wireless remote control can operate a motorized decoiler or recoiler.
Infeed Guide
The rollers of the infeed guide are angled to match the loop of the material from a decoiler. This prevents damage and creases to softer materials such as copper, aluminum, and zinc.
Slitting Knives Guard
The guard over the slitting knives has a built-in safety switch in the hinge that opens 180°. The switch cuts off power to the infeed rollers and the shear, allowing adjustments to the slitting knives to be made safely. The large opening angle of the guard means that the cover does not require any additional support.
LED-Lit Slitting Knives
To facilitate the adjustment of the slitting knives, we now have LED lighting as standard. This provides a clearer overview and contributes to safer and faster setting of the slitting knives.

Film applicator
The film applicator can basically be mounted on any table. Using the deflection rollers and the fully rubberized feed rollers, the protective film is pressed on almost bubble and wrinkle-free. The device type F-AG z2mo has an additional arm with tension spring for tensioning the film during the return movement. This design is only applicable for single decoiling systems.

Table with roller guide
The coil guide is an important component for the function and accuracy of every system. The table has a fixed and a manually adjustable coil guide with ball bearings. The adjustment of the movable coil guide is done by a hand wheel. This specific table has rollers integrated in the table to ensure a smooth surface. Fully rubberized pinch rollers
If you want to prepare your line for a film applicator, then the option with the fully rubberized rollers is ideal for you. This means that your line is ideally prepared for retrofitting a film applicator at any time and with ease. Fully rubberized pinch rollers available in both 1250 and 1500 mm.

When you need to slit narrow strips or when doing a trim cut, we can offer you the right solution. Use our stripper rings that are perfectly suiting our slitting shafts to ensure even better slitting results.

Folding table (ACCESS)
In order to facilitate access to the knife adjustment, a folding table can be installed between the slitter and the guillotine shear for access to the machine. This increases the operating convenience considerably, but extends the machine about 800 mm.

Manual coil selector
The manual coil selector is a very cost-effective solution for quick and easy manual sheet metal changes. Up to eight coils are fixed in the manual coil selector. The desired sheet metal is manually pushed into the downstream machine via a handwheel.

Recoiler
With this recoiler, slits or wide strips can be easily recoiled. The coils are wound tightly to a diameter of 508 mm and an optically clean coil is produced after wrapping and removal. The recoiler has a dancer arm, separating discs, a pneumatic felt brake, a motor and a hydraulic mandrel.

Upgrade the guillotine shear for cutting stainless steel. Available in both 1250 and 1500 mm.

Film Application
Film application equipment can essentially be mounted on all our infeed tables. Thanks to support rollers and rubberized feed rollers, the film is pressed onto the sheet metal without the risk of bubbles or wrinkles. The F-AG z2mo module has an extra arm with a tension spring that tightens the film during the return motion. This design is only applicable to systems with one decoiler.
