Smarter Sheet Metal Processing With A FORSTNER Multicoil Line
In the heart of Sweden, in the town Västerås, you’ll find Jantins Plåt — a family-owned company with over 30 years of experience in building sheet-metal work. The company is run by Daniel and Els-Marie Jantin, who have built a business characterized by quality, flexibility, and fast service. Since the start, Jantins has maintained a clear focus: delivering first-class solutions with high availability and close customer contact.

Authorized and Reliable
Jantins Plåt is an authorized sheet-metal contractor under the TRYGG PLÅT standard, which means they meet the industry’s highest requirements for quality, accountability, and insurance coverage. The authorization serves as a guarantee that customers will receive professionally executed work with the right competence and security throughout.
But for Jantins, it’s not just about meeting the standard — they aim to stay one step ahead.
“We’re very fast — when we receive an inquiry, we try to visit the customer the same day or the next day at the latest. The quotation is sent immediately, and we schedule the jobs as smoothly as possible for the customer.”
— Daniel, owner
From manual to modern
Before investing in a new CIDAN MultiCoil line, much of the handling was done manually. Material was cut on an older cutting line, coils were changed frequently, and large quantities of sheet metal were moved around the workshop every day. This resulted in both waste and numerous heavy lifts.
“We changed sheet metal 10–12 times a day and used the shear a lot. It wasn’t sustainable in the long run — neither for production nor for the work environment.”
The need to streamline the process and create a more ergonomic work environment became increasingly clear — and the choice ultimately fell on choosing a solution from CIDAN Machinery Group.
Smart solution: MultiCoil line from FORSTNER
With the new MultiCoil line, the company took a big step forward. With capacity for up to six coils of 2 tons each, Jantins now enjoys far greater flexibility, shorter changeovers, and significantly less manual handling.
“We looked at other suppliers, but CIDAN’s solution was both easy to operate and logical in its design. Since we already had several machines from CIDAN that have always worked well, we felt great confidence in both the brand and the support.”
The results have been clear:
- 15–20% shorter production time
- Significantly less scrap and material handling
- Fewer heavy lifts and better ergonomics for staff
- Increased capacity: from 500 kg to 2-ton coils
- Production growth from 50 tons (2024) to an expected 64 tons (2025)
“Our staff no longer have shoulder and back pain — that’s a huge win in itself.”

New possibilities — new customers
Thanks to increased capacity and shorter lead times, Jantins has been able to take on more and larger jobs. The new technology has opened doors to new assignments while enacling the company maintains its fast and flexible delivery capability, which is one of their most important competitive advantages.
“We’re very flexible — and now we’re also much more efficient. That means we can compete with significantly larger players without compromising our personal service.”
Investing in the industry’s future
Jantins Plåt isn’t content with just streamlining its own production. They’re also taking responsibility for the industry’s future through a new collaboration with Adult Education at the City of Västerås (Västerås Municipality).
A one-year practical training program in sheet-metal work, including 8–12 weeks of work placement, will be held right next door to Jantins’ workshop. The company will serve as a placement site and sounding board, helping to shape the next generation of sheet-metal workers.
“It’s both a way to give back to the industry and a way to future-proof our own recruitment. With our new machines and fresh facilities, we’re an attractive workplace to learn the trade.”
Looking ahead
The outlook for Jantins Plåt is bright. With a modern machine park, a growing customer base, and a strong team in place, all the conditions are in place for continued growth.

One of the next challenges will be getting customers to start using the digital ordering platform, nuEVOLUTION — something that will enable even smoother processes from order to production.
“There’s a lot to gain by digitalizing the customer flow — the question is how best to get them to take the step, but we’re ready.”
